How to Prepare for a Zombie Apocalypse and Other Possible Disasters

If you're ready for a zombie apocalypse, then you're ready for any emergency. emergency.cdc.gov
A very true statement

With all the tornadoes this year it has made me aware that I should prepare ahead of time for a possible emergency or disaster. And then I ran across this tongue-in-cheek website from no less than the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. It has great tips on how to prepare for an emergency in general. Take a look; first it will make you smile and then hopefully it will encourage you to act.

In my family we have talked about finding out from our close friends and relatives where they plan to hide in case of a tornado. Not only does that make you think about your safe place but it may help someone find you should you get trapped. The other thing I have learned in this year of disasters is to wear sensible shoes. I have been running to my basement wearing flip flops. But if I had to walk through rubble after a tornado hit at the very least I should be wearing tennis shoes.

OK. Now take the time to enjoy the website. I hope you don't have to hide from zombies, tornadoes, or hurricanes but at least be prepared by gathering items for a disaster kit and discussing an emergency plan.
