Calico Garden Dolls
This is a friendship quilt made for our dear friend who returned to her native Vermont leaving a empty seat at our Calico Gardeners meetings in Central Arkansas.
Lorraine announced that she would be leaving us to return to live near her family in Vermont. We decided that a nice way for her to remember us would to make a friendship quilt made up of dolls that somehow represent each of us. We had a basic doll pattern but we were encouraged to change it in anyway as long as the half hearts were in a certain place in the block. When stitched together we are held together by hearts.
