Little Bird

Little Bird
QUEST Flower Challenge

I belong to a quilt guild in central Arkansas called QUEST Quilters. They had a challenge for May 2010 to make a quilt which included flowers. Since the challenge was issued in March and I had just finished my Conway Album top I didn't have much time to prepare a quilt. I remembered seeing this Little Bird pattern on the Quilt Poetry website so I ordered it right away.

When I opened the pattern I thought, "This pattern would be perfect for raw-edged machine applique." So while putting it together I asked my friend Donna McConnell to help me put together a tutorial on how to do that. I hope to get that slide show up soon.

Pattern designer Jane Spolar was very gracious and helped me find the border fabric that she had used on her quilt. This wallhanging is 24" x 31". It is raw-edge machine appliquéd and machine quilted.
